How to work legally in Russia

How to move to Russia for work

There is no benefit in coming on a work visa. If you want to take a work visa, the agent will give you a written stamp that says they will extend your visa. Lucky and hardworking people may get work, but if someone refuses to do certain tasks, they won’t get work in America. If you are coming, only come to Russia with a year’s multiple visa. Do not try to cheat. In some countries, TRC is only issued after 7–8 years, so the passport you receive will only be useful when you are older.

Come to Russia only with a business visa. Come to do business or legitimate work.

Work visa has no benefit. Many people message me saying they got stuck after coming. Work visas are only for two and a half months. After coming here, it requires extension, which involves passing a Russian language test while the police oversee it. Agents may tell you they gave you a work visa, but this is misleading. Do not come on a work visa or try student language course visas, as these are often scams that take your money and offer no real benefit.

If you want to work, come with a business visa. Full-year visas and invitations are legitimate. General visitors trying to do business secretly or illegally often get trapped. Avoid fraudsters.

When you stay in Russia for a year, you can learn the language. Try to speak with people, use Google Translate if needed, and practice basic communication. Once you know the language, you can get work permits from companies legally, extend your work visa, and manage your business properly.

Do not try Belarus or Baku; there is no real benefit. Many people waste money there and gain nothing. Russia is difficult and expensive to come to, but if you are hardworking and willing to do legitimate business, it is worthwhile. Only take a year multiple business visa. Do not attempt to cheat or use shortcuts.

Spend effort learning the language and working honestly. When you gain experience, you can legally extend your visa, manage taxes, and even apply for TRC in the future. Avoid scams, short-term work visas, and countries that offer little real opportunity. Focus on long-term business in Russia, with proper legal documentation, and you will succeed.
